Stronger Together
Mission
At Firefighters for Plant Medicine, our mission is to advocate for research, education and safe use of plant medicines to enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of firefighters and first responders. By supporting firefighter access to plant medicines, we aim to foster a community centered on healing while providing therapeutic tools to support overall wellness and connection.

Services & Community
We are building a community where firefighters and first responders can connect, share experiences, and support one another through peer discussions and therapeutic group activities.

By offering valuable resources and community support, we aim to improve the overall wellness of first responders through a sense of belonging while also creating an empowered and informed network that can help them access essential plant-based therapies.
Education & Advocacy
Firefighters for Plant Medicine is dedicated to educating firefighters, first responders, fire service departments and union leaders about the benefits of plant medicines. We also help fire service and union leaders better understand the mental health challenges faced by their employees and how plant medicine can help them overcome those challenges.
By conducting outreach to mental health professionals, researchers and policy makers, we advocate for including first responders in plant medicine research, access programs, and services, while also helping them understand the firefighter experience and the physical toll of their work.

OUR STORY:
Empowering Through Education, Advocacy & Community
Firefighters for Plant Medicine is a group of firefighters and allies who are passionate about gaining access to legal plant medicine for all first responders. FFPM board members were instrumental in a Bernalillo County drug policy change that now allows firefighters to access off-duty cannabis without fear of adverse employment actions, unless impaired.
This policy change has positively changed the lives of numerous country firefighters. Firefighters are telling us that they are sleeping better, drinking less alcohol and using fewer prescription medications...
